New Beginnings.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Mary, the Mother of God whose feast day we celebrate today on this first day of 2010. I have always loved a new year... out with the old... all the old baggage, all the old stuff that I have been carrying around inside and around me that I no longer need.  I love a clean slate.  God is always giving us new chances, new insights and new beginnings and I can't thank Him enough for that!

How about you?  Need a new attiude, a new heart, a new sense of direction? God can help you with that.  Need a new outlook, insight or perspective? God can do that. Do you need something more pratical like a new job or a new coat or a new relationship in your life?  God can do that too.  But He will need your attention to do this.  He will also need your intention to seek Him and His holy will which is your best and highest good.

God has a new adventure in store for you this year... join HIm on the journey, give Him your renewed commitment to prayer or service or authenticity or whatever the Holy Spirit is nudging you to do inthis regard. (And he IS nudging you even if you are not noticing!)

I just want to share a little of what I am being led to do thus far ...

 1) I am keeping a prayer journal.  It's my GO TO book  for my pryaers and the answers that the Lord provides. ( He has already answered one of those prayers and it is not even 24 hours into this new year!)

2) God is asking me to go to a new level of compassion in my personal life knowing full well that I am struggling in this area.  I am like SImon Peter in the boat when the Lord told him to cast his net again after a futile night of fishing.  Like Peter I am protesting saying "Well I already tried and I failed so why are you asking me to do  this again?/"  I suspect that the Lord is doing the same thing with me that he did with Peter... inviting me into a deeper level of trust in HIm so that He can show me what can happen when I do... which will far outshine any results I could achieve by my own efforts.

Well, whatever happens this year, and where ever the Lord leads you-- my prayer is that you will always rrest in the best of what  Jesus wants to give you and revel in His LOVE!!!
